SIMON GALLEN TO SHOOT IN THE USA

Simon Gallen, police officer of fifteen years from Muswellbrook Police Station and associate member of the NSW Police Council of Sport has once again gained representative honors when he heads to the USA in August this year to compete in the World 3D Archery Titles.

Simon has been shooting field archery since he was young and after a long break returned to the sport when he was posted to Moonan Flat Police Station six and a half years ago. There he started an Archery Club (Moonan Archers) and was responsible for introducing archery into the local school.

After a long absence from the sport he loves, Simon has won several Australian and State Titles in both the Australian Bowhunters Association (ABA) and 3D Archery Association of Australia (3DAAA). He has also won the 3DAAA NSW Titles for the past two years and the 3DAAA "Shooter of the Year" in his division last year.

He is very fortunate to receive sponsorship through Carney Archery Supplies at Cessnock, Abbey Archery Supplies at Castle Hill and Martin Archery, USA and is very appreciative of the support given to him by his family, wife Sarah and three children.

On behalf of the NSW Police Council of Sport and our members we wish Simon all the very best at the World 3D Archery Titles, apparently it will be a very tough shoot, with an expected 7,500 shooters attending from around the world. Best wishes!
