POLICE EQUESTRIAN GAMES 8-9 MARCH 2003 SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL EQUESTRIAN CENTRE (S.I.E.C.).

This years Police Equestrian Games were held at the magnificent serene grounds of the Olympic Venue S.I.E.C at Horsley Park.

Co-ordinator S/C Kelli WHITE from Walgett along with S/C Julie MUNRO from Tamworth left their children behind for 10 days and camped the week at the grounds to prepare the event.

Competitors travelled from Armidale, Wagga Wagga, Tamworth, Yass inner and outer city to compete in the 45 event program.

Saturday's program commenced with the Hacking and the dressage and Sunday's program commenced with the cross country, the show jumping and sporting events followed by the presentation.

Judges commented on the quality of horse and rider combinations and the effort all riders made in presenting their horses this year.

Kelli WHITE would like to thank all of the sponsors who generously donated prizes despite extremely difficult times due to the drought, also thanks to judges, pencillers and competitors, the Sydney International Equestrian Centre for hosting the event, Blacktown City Council for their corporate sponsorship and the fantastic medals and the NSW Police Council of Sport for their support particularly Penni Clout who attended the venue and was gasping for air as she watched me jump the cross country.

Thanks everyone see you next year.

Kelli WHITE
