Soccer Club busy in the lead up to Christmas and 2007!
Australian Defence Force Games:
Between 28 October and 1 November, 2006, members of the NSW Police Soccer club combined with the Fire Brigade to take on the Defence Forces in their annual games at Melita Stadium, Granville.
The squad made up mostly of NSW Police, where very competitive against the fit and well trained Defence Force Teams. The combined team finished with 1 loss and 2 draws. A combined over 35 team Police, Fire and Ambulance side lost to a combined over 35’s Defence Force side.

Korean Community Game:
On Saturday the 11 November, 2006, the Police Soccer Club played a Korean Community side as part of a Bankstown Council Community Day. The Korean defeated the Police 4-1. Thanks to the Auburn ECLO, Elsa for the invitation. A rematch is being schedule for next year.
NSW Police Association Football Cup
The inaugural Police Association Football Cup is currently underway. This is a round robin tournament between the Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service contested at Melita Stadium Granville. The Cup commenced on Wed 15 November with the Fire Brigade defeating the Ambulance Service 3-1.
The remaining games are as follows:
7.30pm Wednesday 22/11/2006 – Police v Fire Brigade
7.30pm Wednesday 29/11/2006 – Police v Ambulance
The final is on Wednesday 6/12/2006.
6.30pm Ambulance woman v Fire Brigade woman
8.00pm Police Association Football Cup between the top two sides from the round robin.
Women’s Soccer win Shield
Congratulations to the NSW Police Women’s Soccer team who recently won the Emergency Services Shield on 13th July at The Crest Oval, Georges Hall.
The event was a round robin competition with the top two teams playing off for the Emergency Services Shield. Teams from Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance Services, Corrective Services and National Parks and Wildlife participated.
Originating last year with the Men’s Shield the inaugural Women’s Shield was added to the program this year. Organiser Andrew Kase from the NSW Ambulance Service did a great job and must be commended for bringing together teams for this event. Thank you to Bankstown City Council for their support providing the grounds for the Shield.
The women’s final was won by the NSW Police, who beat the NSW Ambulance 2-0.
Congratulations to Peta NAISBY (NSW Police) who won the Golden Boot Award.
