The 2009 Games are to be played from Saturday, 28 February to Sunday, 8th March in the city of Blacktown, and with thirty sports being contested, including the long awaited return of tug o war, there is bound to be something for everyone.
The NSW Police Games is open to all NSW Police Force employees (including Volunteers In Policing) and full time employees of government agencies with a law enforcement role – NSW Fire Brigade, Ambulance, Customs, Corrections, APS, SES, the Sheriffs Dept, RFS, AFP, as well as Blacktown City Council and Police Credit Union employees within NSW. Retired and family members from each of these agencies are also encouraged to take part.
All registrations close on Friday, 20th February 2009 with the exception of sailing. The sports offered in 2009 are – Angling, Archery, Aussie Rules*, Clay Target, Cycling, Equestrian, Fun Run/Walk, Golf, Hockey, Mountain Bike Racing, Netball, Oz Tag, Paintball, Pistol, Rifle (small bore), Sailing, Soccer (Field), Soccer (Indoor), Softball, Spearfishing, Squash, Surfing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Ten Pin Bowling, Track and Field, Triathlon and Tug O War.
All competitors should be sufficiently fit and ready for competition to maximise enjoyment and to minimise injury. So start training now! Competitors, as per the NSW Police Games Entry Information, require their own medical insurance coverage.
The registration fee to enter this event will remain as per 2008 at $15.00 pp for a member of the NSW Police Council of Sport Inc and $25.00 pp for non-members. This is a one-off fee despite the number of events you enter. Each sport also has a sport fee.
